Abstract: Chlorine is a volatile element in the acidic media for its activity in chemistry, and can be absorbed by alkali substance. The present paper introduces a method of chlorine determination in rock samples by ion chromatography after treated in a sealed gasification absorber. Good results in both accuracy and precision have been obtained for various sample analyses with this method which has no pollution and is convenient in manipulation.
