Abstract: The ancient stream channel of Qinhuai river is characterized by its binary structure of sand and clay，and is also art important aquifer．Based on the analysis of its particular engineering geology, hydrogeology and surrounding conditions, this paper discussed the geotechnical problem in the foundation pit excavation of skyscrapers and its settlement, which can be used in the design and construction of deep foundation in this areas．
