Abstract: Located in a tectonic uplift region in Zixi county,Jiangxi province the Fashui hot spring along the Erkou—Shixia fault belt is a typical intermountain basin type hot spring with a geothermal anormaly area 1ess than lkm.In order to investigate the distribution of underground thermal water of the hot spring,we used the direct current prospecting to determine the fracture belt bearing underground thermal water with the near-source field electric profiling.Furthermore, the inclination, depth and the water-bearing characteristics of the fracture zone were investigated by using electric sounding and combined profiling on key profile lines The positions of boreholes are projected for development and utilization of heat energy of the hot springs.
